The visual documentation section is building a bridge between the performing and the visual arts aiming to accompany the process and make the invisible visible and permanent.

LandSchafftTanz project by Anna Simonsmeier and Nina Patricia Hänel, Cologne

Landschafft TANZ is a multi-year project that brings people together in rural areas – with dance, performance and a round tables in public spaces. Over coffee and cookies, people have the opportunity to watch dance, communicate with each other and talk about what moves them. I accompanied the explorative phase and the result was published in the 49.1 Spring Edition of Cream City Review.

Footprints from the past – seeds for the future, a climate dance project initiated by performer Katja Ferger, Kassel

This climate dance project used the medium of dance to address various issues relating to climate change and a healthy soil. What is climate change doing to us? How can we build resilience and resistance in the long term? The participants visited vulnerable natural spaces around Kassel and performed in them. I accompanied the dance workshops.

Exhibition Detmold Design Week 2024

My objects explore the question of freedom through the lens of primary education. Inspired by Paulo Freire’s critique of oppressive structures, they examine how forms shape behavior, learning, and conformity from an early age. By questioning the systems we often accept as natural, the work invites reflection on whether we are truly free—or merely adapting to predetermined forms.

Moving Art Lab (Work in Progress)

Through the Moving Art Lab and its theme, “Spaces of Imagination,” my goal is to explore alternative paths to development and freedom with children (especially those aged 7–12). A guide is available that includes a set of materials, though these are adapted to the children’s needs and the time available. I have previously implemented the project in an adapted form. The idea is that spoken language is not required —or, rather, it can function without it. The first implementation in the new format is for Romania with the NGO Orizont e.V.
